Multi directional lift truck training

NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) accredited multi directional lift truck training for experienced operators and novices.

Course objective

Provide trainees with the knowledge, understanding and basic skills to enable them to safely operate multi-directional fork lift trucks. The trainees are expected to have attained a high level of operating skill, which will comply with the standard laid down in accordance with the HSE code of practice L117.

  • Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations
  • Provision and Use of Working Equipment Regulations
  • Introduction to the forklift truck
  • Principle of lifting
  • Stability factors
  • Components of the fork truck
  • Steering operations (forward and reverse, left and right)
  • Steering operations (confined/open areas)
  • Picking up, putting down, transporting pallet loads
  • Stacking and de-stacking loads at high, eye and low level

Assessment

Theory and practical examination.

1 instructor : 1 multi directional lift truck : 3 candidates

Duration

The duration of the course will vary depending on the experience of the candidates.

  • Novice operators: 5 day course
  • Experienced operators: 1 day course
