NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) accredited reach truck training for experienced operators and novices.

Course objective

The trainee on completion will be expected to have attained a level of operating skill, which will comply with the standard laid down in accordance with the HSE code of practice L117.

  • Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations
  • Provision and Use of Working Equipment Regulations
  • Introduction to the forklift truck
  • Battery care
  • Components of the forklift truck
  • Stability factors
  • Steering operations (forward and reverse)
  • Steering operations (confined/open areas)
  • Picking up, putting down, transporting palletised loads
  • Stacking and de-stacking loads at high, eye and low level

Assessment

Theory and practical examination.

1 instructor : 1 reach truck : 3 candidates

The above course will vary on the duration depending on the experience of the candidates.

  • Novice operators: 5 day course
  • Experienced operators: 1 day course
